Josephine

There isn't much more iconic in France than the little Citroen 2CV's seen pootling around the countryside. There is such a reverence and fondness for these 'tin snails' that folk on the streets raise a hand as you drive by.  Returning to the carpark to find a chap walking around the car enjoying the simplicity of the design (and ignoring the ageing body work) is not unusual.

Josephine was first registered in the UK in 1989 so is doing remarkably well for her 35 years.  Simon bought her for Julie after her Breast Cancer surgery in 2017 and Julie and her good friend Nicola had an 'exciting' drive down to the Loire in April 2018.

Despite having a large modern comfortable car, Julie chooses to take Josephine out whenever the weather is good.  There is nothing nicer than rolling back the roof and taking a drive out in the summer sunshine, and often with nowhere in particular to go.

Josephine is insured for any driver, so if you would like to borrow her for a day or two during your stay you are welcome to do so.

As Josephine was built for the UK market she is right hand drive, and once around the block is usually enough to get used to the slightly unusual gear stick and general handling.

For people preferring to fly in to Tours cars can be hired to be picked up at the airport on arrival
