Vineyards & Wine Tasting

The Loire Valley is known worlwide for its excellent wines.  The area South of Le Moulin Verneau is full of vineyards and wine houses.  Not only is the scenery stunning, the wine tasting is pretty damn good!

Walking & Cycling

Walking & Cycling is a way of life in France, whether it be the daily visit to the boulangerie or a walk or cycle along the river or around one of the local lakes.  The french are also keen picnickers and as such there are picnic benches a plenty in many places. There are an assortment of bikes, which you are welcome to borrow. We also have a tow-bar bike rack which holds three bikes if you wish to go further afield.

Markets & Brocantes

Most of the historic towns hold a market each week.  There are also some Marche aux  Puces (Flea Markets) held regularly.  In addition there are a number of Brocantes (Second Hand Warehouses) which are great to browse around.



Chateaux & Historic Towns

The Loire Valley is peppered with magnificent Chateaux which were once homes of the rich.  Many are open for visitors, some are still private residence, some are both.  Our nearest is just a few kilometers away at Gizeux, and some of the more famous ones at Chenonceau and Villandry are all easy day trips.  Many of the Chateaux are flanked by pretty historic towns which have streets filled with restaurants and coffee shops for frequent people watching stops.
